كان يا ما كان فواحد الزمان، كان عصفور صغيور سميتو رفرف عايش فشجرة رمان. بدات الشتا الأولى كطيح بشوية: طق طق طق فوق الوراق. خاف رفرف وتخبا تحت غصن كبير وبدا يرجف شوية. جات ماماه حداه وحطت جناوحها عليه بحنان وقالت: ما تخافش يا وليدي، هاد الشتا رحمة، كتسقي الأرض والورد كيتفتح. شاف رفرف الأرض كتفرح والشجر كيشرب الماء الصافي، وغنى فرحان. حس بالدفا وعرف بلي من ورا المطر كيجي الورد والربيع المنور.
ودابا، جا الليل الزوين، والنجوم كيضويو فالسما. الشتا هدات وصوت النقيطات هادي بزاف، والدار دافية. يا وليدي الزوين، يا بنيتي الحبيبة، النعاس جا لعويناتك. خود نفس هادي... هكاك... غمض عينيك ومرتاح... وتصبح على خير، ونعاس هني وأحلام كلها فرحة وسلام.
