كان يا ما كان فواحد الزمان، كان راجل مسكين واقف حدا مطعم كيشم ريحة الشوربة اللذيذة وكياكل طريف خبز يابس. خرج مول المطعم وقال ليه: خصك تخلصني حيت شميتي ريحة ماكلتي! داوه عند جحا باش يحكم بيناتهم. هز جحا جيبو وحرك الفلوس ودار صوت: تشن تشن تشن! وقال لمول المطعم: واش سمعتي صوت الفلوس؟ قال: إييه سمعتو. قال جحا: صافي، صوت الفلوس هو خلاص ريحة الشوربة! وضحك كولشي بالعدل والشطارة.
ودابا، جا الليل الزوين، والنجوم كيضويو فالسما. الشارع ساكت والبيوت طافيين الضو، والدار دافية. يا وليدي الزوين، يا بنيتي الحبيبة، النعاس جا لعويناتك. خود نفس هادي... هكاك... غمض عينيك ومرتاح... وتصبح على خير، ونعاس هني وأحلام كلها فرحة وسلام.
